1- Always refer to Internet
Internet is always my best friend. If you are in doubt about your method of homeschooling or home school curriculum use the internet to seek another method. In fact, you can use the internet to help you in regard to nearly everything homeschool related. Do you need something to keep your little one busy while you’re working with an older child? The internet has coloring sheets galore, as well as worksheets, mazes, and puzzles. There are thousands of homeschooling blogs all over the world for you to use as reference. You can always copy their ideas and turn it in your own way and become yours forever.
2. Choose a complete homeschool curriculum
Complete curricula will also make homeschooling easier on you as a parent. Instead of having to search through multiple catalogs to find just the right curriculum, choose a complete curriculum. Not only will it save you time, it may even save you money, in the long run.
3. Cut yourself some slack
Don’t expect yourself to be the perfect teacher. Unless you have an education degree, you most likely will make mistakes along the way. Don’t beat yourself up about them. Learn from the mistakes and try not to repeat them again.
4. Allow your children to help themselves
You can’t be expected to know everything, so if your child wants to learn something you don’t know, give them the freedom to follow their interests. You might be pleasantly surprised to find that they learn more on their own than they did while you were more involved.
5. Seek help from others
When in doubt about anything dealing with homeschooling, seek the advice from those who have been homeschooling for longer than you. Even though they may not have dealt with exactly what you’re dealing with, chances are they will be able to give you advice or point you in the right direction. Take advantage of your homeschooling peers’ offers of help, there might be a time where you’ll be able to return the favor.
6. Online communities are available
If you don’t know people that homeschool in your local area, there are literally hundreds of homeschooling communities on the Internet. Search online for homeschooling groups or forums. They can be found in every state, and even some outside of the United States. You may have to register to join a homeschool group or forum, but you can be as active as you like and remain anonymous if you like.
Let's ask Hafidz about his idea as homeschooler in order to make homeschool fun and easy for parents.
1- Do a lot of experiments. You can find lots of good experiments in youtube. Just buy all the things needed and let your kids do it by themselves.
I love doing experiment especially with light. |
2- Ask your kid do "tapping". Tapping is good for everybody especially students. After 40 days doing it, you can see the significant result on you. Tapping can change you to be a better person.
I love cooking class. |
4-Let your kids listen to "english programme" or any other language that you want them to master in youtube. Make it daily. Save your time for at least 2 hours a day while your kids are at the computer.
5- Introduce Science Garden to your homeschooling curriculum. Let your kids explore what is in the garden and plant their own trees. Maybe they can plant some vegetables and cook it in their cooking class. Wow!! I really feel proud when plucking my ripe chillies and use them in my favorite recipes.
Coconut tree is one of my favorite. I'm going to make many coconut bonsai and sell it one day. |
Trimming bonsai tree really need you to be patient. |
6- Arrange lots of field trips for your kids. You just stay at home doing your things. Lets others do it with your kids. They can be a father, big brothers or big sisters.
I followed my father and brother for island hopping around Langkawi Island. We were searching for bonsai. |
7- Give your kids some space to do their hobbies. There are lots of good hobbies that really can make your kids learning something new. Motivate them to make some research about the hobbies in internet. I like fishing, taking videos and pictures, swimming and gardening. I wish to make it as a business one day.
Photography has become my new passion. I love the art of photo editting |
8- Painting is always close to the heart of children. They can really sit down for hours to experiment with colors and experience the miracle of colors on the paper. Even though I am not a good artist, painting really pin me to the chair for quite a long hours. Try this with your kids and you will thanks God for all the comfort.
Painting the leaves of tree is the easiest. |
9- I really love to watch all the survival programmes. There are lots of them in youtube such as man vs. wild, dual survival and man and woman vs. wild. They can always try some of the acts at home such as how to light fire without matches, how to make a raft from the tree trunks and lots more. From my own experience, I did learn many survival tricks that I can use in future. We never know what is waiting for us. Just pray for all the best!!
Gather all the dry sticks into a pile |
Start to make a very vigorous friction of stick and dried plank |
Friction between the stick and the plank will produce a smoke |
Keep on blowing the smoke until it produce a fire |
Transfer the fire to the pile of dry sticks. |
10- It is good to make home project for your kids. Home project is an advantage for a teenager like me. Doing something that introduce you to the reality of life is very important in order to build self confidence. Home project can be a small business at home, become a dealer without capital on-line, home renovation and many other things. I am lucky to have 2 home projects that are still in the progress....building double storey house and making homemade health products that we sell on-line.
I learn lots of things about house building. |
I also learn how to use this concrete machine |
Thank You Hafidz For Making My Work Easier!
I Love You My Son.
